What is the XanGo 90 day challenge? Great question! After talking with Mary Aldridge about the benefits of XanGo (see Homeopathic article) we were so impressed by her passion that we decided to put it to the test. Mary states that after taking Xango for 90 days a person should feel a difference in their overall health.
Scientific evidence is wonderful (and needed)…but what we all look for are results. So John is going to be the Butterflyhope tester. From October 1, 2008 to December 30, 2008 John will take Xango everyday. John will do a weekly journal on his experience. To start the journal he will provide a brief medical bio and list goals he hopes to achieve by taking Xango.
This project is totally sponsored by Butterflyhope. We have not, nor do we want any discounted or free products from Xango. We feel this is the only way to fairly evaluate the product.
As a disclaimer, the results John receives from taking XanGo (good or bad) are not guarantees that other individuals will receive the same results. This test is being done to provide a testimonial of the possible benefits of Xango.

Intial Goals for taking XanGo:
09/21/08
So it begins!
One of the goals when we first started Butterflyhope was to provide some test studies on various homeopathic remedies. I never thought I would be the guinea pig…or maybe I did. I am excited. I ordered my first month supply of Xango last night. It will be delivered by UPS in a couple of days. The cost? It is about $121 per month, including shipping and handling. To break it down that is: $30 per week or about $4 per day. In compression when I do a morning visit to Starbucks my venti quad-cappuccino cost $5.08. The big question I have when buying any supplement is: what is the cost vs. health benefit? The answer for me is always the same: if the supplement can noticeably change my state of health cost will not be a factor.
I am so excited! I can’t wait until October 1st.
The 90 day challlenge has been delayed for a few days. I have the Xango....I am ready to go...but.......we decided for the integrity of the test that I should have a blood test first. This way we can compare before and after. Hopefully, this will be done this week.
I hate needles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
10/17/08 UPDATE! It is almost needle time...........October21 or 22!!!!!!!!!!
10/24/08 Okay I have been a bit slow in getting my blood work....but it now complete. The results will be posted as soon as I get them. I will start the Xango this afternoon. For the next 90 dyas I will be giving weekly reports or more often as necessary.
10/24/08
First Xango is down the hatch. It is fruity...a bit tart...but overall the taste is appealing. no...I do not feel like super man...yet.
10/26/08 On my third day of the Xango experiement...no change in my overall feeling of well being...but as I said this is my third day. The imporant thing to note is that...it has not caused any adverse reacton...such as stomach upset. Other things to note:
I finally got around to reading the label (so i'm a little slow), the nutritional values as compared to other juices:
A serving size of Xango is 1 oz (recommended daily dosage is 1 to 3 oz.)
Per serving there is 13 calories, 3.2 grams of carbohydrates, and 2.7 grams of sugar.
For other juices in my refrigerator the values are very similar. The biggest difference is that many of the other juices have a daily allotment of vitamin C and other vitamins.
One point that I would like to make about Xango is that it is a juice…just as grape juice is a juice. It is natural. I know of some physicians who are opposed to their critically ill patients taking Xango. My question to them is, why? It is a juice…just as grape juice is a juice….nutritionally the values are very similar. Are they opposing it because it may have holistic values? Have they taken the time to read the label? It is definitely food for thought.
November 2, 2008. One week has been completed. I am not noticed any changes in my overall state of well being....but it has only been a week. I am less sore after my workouts, which may be contributed to the juice...or possibly to my body adjusting to my workout regime. The big thing to report is that I have not experienced any adverse side effects!
November 9, I've completed my second bottle and started working on the third. This week I should have my lab results back. I haven't noticed any real difference in the way I feel..with one exception. When I eat late at night, especially if I drink alcoho with my meal I have really bad gerd when I go to bed. Twice in the past week I have a late night dinner...once I had had a late night snack (a big no..no for me). Absoultely no gerd.....slept well on both nights! If the juice helps with my gerd.....it will become a staple of my life!
November 23, 2008
Okay...i am a bit late recording the results of my blood test...so I guess we can determine that Xango does not help with procratation! I am not going to bore you with the total results but I will get the highlights!
LIPIDS:
Triglycerides - 77
Total Cholesterol- 179
HDL- 55
LDL 106
Glucose- 91
Protein- 6.9
Albumin 4.0
In plain englsih...I am pretty healthy.
Due to my busy lifestyle and somewhat forgetful nature last week I forgot to take my morning dose of xango for two straight days. On both nights my gastric reflux disease flared up...and I had a difficult time sleeping. When I resumed the Xango...my symptoms of GERD disappeared. Is this a coincidence, or is the xngo assisting in keeping the GERD in control? This definitely requires further attention. As far as other benefits from xango...I have yet to discover any, however it does take a while of continous use to achieve optimum benefit. I am iust completing the first month of the study.
11/30/08 So two months of the challenge are complete! The two things I have noticed the most are: My GERD seems to be in good control, even if I don't monitor what I eat at night. Thsi is a dramactic change. Secondly, I have yet to get one of my usual lingering fall colds.
Now the question is: Coincidence or Xango? I am not feeling an overall increase of energy or feeling healthier. However these two factors are something to consider.
12/08/08 The juice challenge continues. My biggest challenge is remembering to take it everyday. Medicine and supplements use some of their efficiency if not taken as directed. I still have yet to get a winter cold- which may be a direct result of Xango. My GERD remains in check.
12/21/08. Still going strong on the challenge! So far this winter I have able to avoid the flu and any type of prolong cold. I do notice that if I skip xango for a day or two my gerd acts up a bit.
12/31/08 More than 2/3 of the way completed. I am yet to have the winter flu or even a cold! This is a positive! I am a bit disappointed that my energy level has not increased...but maybe over the next few weeks it will.
